HPU Radio is under new management as Archdale native Matt Wells made the  transition from the ranks of Program Director to Station Manager for the up and coming station HPUR:The Sound.  The Junior Station Manager brings an eclectic variety of music love and knowledge to the station who has doubled programming hours in just one semester!

Wells attributes his love for music to his family.  "Growing up with everyone in my house listening to things from Garth Brooks to the Doobie Brothers.  I had no choice to love all types of music and I am very thankful I had that exposure when I was younger."

Wells also claims to be unbeatable at games like Guitar Hero and Don't Forget the Lyrics, boasting his love of music is unmatched!  He welcomes all challengers.

Wells is currently influenced by any music his friends may suggest to him.  He even has a running game of Name That Song! going on with one of his closest friends.  He also relies on his best friends, or as Wells claims "BFF" to keep him up to date on all the new music coming out since he has a lot of listening to do.  Wells also blames his recent addiction to Paramore on friends too.

My name is Jamie Hendrix and I'm a senior from Lenoir, NC (It’s okay if you don’t know where it is because not many people do!)  My major is Communications with a concentration in Media Studies.  I have been blessed with the opportunity to be the Music Director for HPUR: The Sound!  It’s a huge responsibility but I love every moment of it!  Anything that has to do with music makes me happy.  I have a very eclectic taste in music and it’s very hard for me to pick one favorite genre.  I’m definitely a free spirit and just waking up in the morning gives me joy!  I believe that life is too short to be stressing over so enjoy it while you can because tomorrow is not promised! I love meeting new people so if
you see me come over and introduce yourself!  Make sure you listen to HPUR: The Sound!  Especially on Saturday nights from 8 to 10 p.m.
because that’s my shift!  It’s called the Eclectic Grind Time and I can promise that you’ll have a good time!
